The collection of pictures

A selection of pictures can be found on this webpage. Click on the links on the left. All of these were done between 1974 and 1978 with exception of the pictures under the heading “New Pictures” - these were done in 2003.

The entire Tree of Life collection is made up of more that 7 000 pictures and captions created by children all over the world. They were collected beginning in 1970 right up until 2003.

All items – paintings, drawings and texts – are gifts from the children who made them to the organisastion of Save the Children, Sweden.

Since 1994 the responsibility of the collection now lies with The Swedish Children’s Picture Archive (Svenskt Barnbildarkiv) in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

During 2004-2007 all the material of Tree of Life were professionally registered, photographed and computerized by the Archive and is now accessible for research and publishing in contexts related to the ideas behind the Tree of Life and to the Rights of the Child as agreed upon in tne Convention on the Rights of the Child.
