The Legislative History of
the Convention on the Rights of the Child

The Legislative history of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is a joint publication by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and Save the Children Sweden.

The publication contains 1 000 pages in two volumes and a CD. These volumes provide a comprehensive record of the legislative history of the Convention.

The covers of these volumes show a sample of children´s paintings from the Tree of Life collection.

This publication is the very first in-depth legislative history of any human rights treaty prepared by the United Nations.

It was launched June, 2007 in the United Nations, Palais des Nations in Geneva
